Grace Episcopal Church
Asheville, North Carolina

DESCRIPTION
The only liturgical renewal this 90-year-old historical sanctuary had seen was the installation of carpet over the entire space about thirty years ago.  In the new plan, an enlarged chancel area was built, with hardwood floors to match the existing. The altar was placed more forward on the platform, giving the celebrant better proximity to the congregation and leaving generous space for the choir in an improved acoustical placement. All carpet was removed and hardwood floors refinished.
